About the course

A four-year (eight-semester) undergraduate business degree taught fully in English. It has run since 2008/09 and holds EFMD programme accreditation. Modules come from the faculty’s economics, finance, marketing, management and international business departments.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • EU citizens apply on the same terms as Croatians. The University of Zagreb says admission to all its programmes is restricted. AZVO (the Agency for Science and Higher Education) recognises your Leaving Certificate, and this can only be done through the Postani student system. EFZG does not publish how Higher Level grades (H1-H8) are weighted in the ranking, so ask the Student Office (student.office@efzg.hr) how you will be ranked.
  • The University of Zagreb says every foreign document must be translated into Croatian and copies of the originals certified by a notary. You also need a Croatian personal identification number (OIB) before you enrol.
  • EFZG does not publish an English test or certificate requirement for this programme. Ask the Student Office whether your Leaving Cert English is enough.

How to apply

  1. Register and upload documents (from spring 2027)Register on postani-student.hr and upload your Leaving Cert documents, translated into Croatian and with copies certified by a notary.
  2. Request recognition from AZVOAfter all your documents are uploaded, submit the recognition request inside your Postani student profile. AZVO will not start until every document is in, so do this well before July.
  3. Apply by about 10 July 2027On postani-student.hr, choose ‘Bachelor Degree in Business’ as a full-time programme (‘redovni preddiplomski sveučilišni studij’). Get your OIB from the Croatian Tax Administration in the meantime.
  4. Pay and enrol (about 20 July)Pay the €5,000 tuition before you register and bring the bank-verified receipt. Enrolment is around 20 July, or around 20 September in the autumn term. Classes start in the first week of October.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: EFZG says the deadline to register and apply for the summer term on postani-student.hr is around 10 July each year. Enrolment is around 20 July for the summer term, or around 20 September for the autumn term. AZVO handles recognition of your Leaving Cert only through the Postani student system, and the recognition request appears in your profile from about February. The exact 2027 dates are not yet published..

Costs

  • Tuition is €5,000 a year. EFZG gives this single figure for the English-taught programme, with no lower rate for EU students. You must pay it before you register and bring a receipt verified by the bank. EFZG also lists an enrolment fee of €66.36. The faculty does not mention an application fee.
EU students pay €5,000 a year for this English programme, and it takes four years. The Croatian translations, notary-certified copies and AZVO recognition all go through Postani student before the deadline in early July, so start early.
