About the course

An English-taught degree in international relations, covering international politics and related fields. It runs over 6 semesters.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Corvinus asks for a completed secondary school-leaving qualification equivalent to the Hungarian Matura. The Leaving Certificate normally meets this, with no points conversion, so confirm with admissions that your results are acceptable.
  • There is no maths requirement for this programme. Instead you have an online interview on Microsoft Teams, usually 10 to 15 minutes; you are emailed at least five days beforehand to book a slot.
  • English at B2 level: for example IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 65 or Cambridge First, or a native-speaker declaration. Leaving Cert English is not listed as proof, and English being the language of instruction is not accepted on its own.

How to apply

  1. Apply onlineRegister on the Corvinus application portal (expected to open around October 2026), submit the form and pay the €100 application fee before a round deadline.
  2. Prepare for the interviewRead up on current international affairs and be ready to explain why you want to study international relations.
  3. Online interviewBook and take the 10 to 15 minute Teams interview in your round’s oral exam window (in the 2026 cycle these ran from February to June).
  4. Accept and paySend your final Leaving Cert results by 1 August 2027 and pay the first tuition instalment. €500 of it is non-refundable.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Rolling admission through the Corvinus online application system. For September 2026 entry the portal opened in October 2025, with round deadlines on 8 Feb, 22 Feb, 29 Mar, 3 May and 26 May 2026; oral exams (interviews) followed on 11-13 Feb, 11-13 Mar, 15-17 Apr, 20-22 May and 10-12 Jun 2026. The 2027/28 dates were not published at the time of checking. Final certificates are due by 1 August..

Costs

  • EEA students pay 1,700,000 HUF a year (roughly €4,300, depending on the exchange rate), and Corvinus says the fee stays the same for the whole programme. There is a €100 non-refundable application fee. Once you meet the requirements you pay the first semester or year of tuition in advance, and €500 of that is a non-refundable registration fee.
Entry is decided by an online interview, not Leaving Cert points. Apply in an early round, and remember the €500 registration fee is non-refundable.
