About the course

A seven-semester (210-credit) business degree taught in English, covering management, marketing, HR and logistics. The final semester is a compulsory business internship.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Hungary has no national Leaving Cert grade or points conversion for English-taught degrees. The University of Debrecen asks for a completed secondary school certificate and sets its own entrance exam instead. Final-year students can apply with transcripts from the last 2-3 years and predicted grades, and must show the original certificate at registration. Confirm with admissions that the Leaving Certificate is accepted.
  • Entrance procedure: an online Mathematics exam plus an oral interview that includes an English assessment.
  • English: B2 level (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 513 paper-based). The university exempts applicants who completed secondary education in English, so Leaving Cert students taught through English may be exempt; confirm with admissions.

How to apply

  1. Apply onlineCreate an account on the university’s Stuart application portal once the September 2027 round opens (later in 2026) and upload your certificate or transcripts and predicted grades, passport, CV and medical certificate.
  2. Pay the feesPay the 150 US dollar application fee and the 350 US dollar entrance procedure fee by bank transfer. Neither is refundable.
  3. Maths exam and interviewSit the online Mathematics exam and the oral interview when invited.
  4. Accept and registerIf admitted, pay tuition and bring your original Leaving Certificate to registration in September 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: The university’s admissions page says the September 2027 application period opens later in 2026 and the final deadline is 15 May 2027. The programme page still shows the older 15 June deadline, so apply well before 15 May 2027 to be safe. There is one intake a year, in September..

Costs

  • The university lists tuition as 7,000 US dollars a year for 2026/27 and does not publish a separate EU/EEA rate. Health insurance and the student card are included in the tuition fee. One-off, non-refundable fees: application fee 150 US dollars and entrance procedure fee 350 US dollars. Fees are paid by bank transfer; the 2027/28 fee was not yet published.
The course takes 3.5 years, including a semester-long internship, and entry depends on the university’s own maths test and interview, not Leaving Cert points.
