About the course

A programme combining business and economics subjects with programming, database systems, SAP training, data analytics and artificial intelligence, ending with a thesis. It includes a compulsory 8-week internship with a company or university research project.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Hungary asks for a completed school-leaving qualification; Debrecen requires a high school certificate (completed final year and final exam), which the Leaving Certificate normally meets. The university publishes no Leaving Cert grade or points requirement and uses its own entrance exam instead, so confirm with admissions that your Leaving Cert results are accepted.
  • Online written and oral entrance exam in Mathematics, so solid Leaving Cert maths (ideally Higher Level) matters.
  • English at B2 level: the programme page lists TOEFL 513 (paper-based) or IELTS 5.5. The general application page says a proctored B2 certificate is needed but native speakers or those schooled in English may be exempt; Irish applicants should confirm whether Leaving Cert English is accepted.

How to apply

  1. Check requirementsFrom autumn 2026, read the programme page and prepare your documents: school certificate and transcripts for the last 2-3 years, passport, CV and medical certificate.
  2. Apply onlineSubmit the application on the university’s online portal and pay the 150 USD application fee, before 15 June (2027 date to be confirmed).
  3. Sit the entrance examPay the 350 USD entrance procedure fee and take the online written and oral exam in Mathematics; English is also assessed.
  4. Accept and payIf admitted, pay the first year’s tuition (7,000 USD for 2026/27) and enrol for the September start.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Self-financed applications for September entry close on 15 June (15 June 2026 for the 2026/27 intake). There is one intake a year, in September. The 2027 deadline has not been published yet; expect a similar mid-June date but confirm..

Costs

  • The university charges 7,000 US dollars a year for 2026/27 (roughly €6,000; the exact euro amount depends on the exchange rate). The same fee applies to all international students; no separate EU rate is published. On top of this there is a one-off, non-refundable application fee of 150 US dollars and a non-refundable entrance procedure fee of 350 US dollars. From second year, tuition can be paid in two instalments on request.
This is not a CAO-style points course: entry depends on the university’s own online maths exam, and fees are charged in US dollars, so the euro cost changes with the exchange rate.
