About the course

A business degree covering economics, marketing, finance, statistics, business law, marketing research and communications, brand and product management, and international marketing. It includes a semester-long placement with a multinational, a local company or a non-profit, plus a thesis.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The University of Debrecen asks for a high school certificate (completed final year and passed final exams). It publishes no Leaving Cert grade or points conversion. Admission is decided by its own online entrance exam and interview. You can apply with predicted grades and show original certificates at registration. Confirm with the admissions office that your Leaving Certificate is accepted.
  • Online entrance exam in Mathematics, plus an interview. The university publishes maths topics and sample tests for non-medical BSc programmes.
  • English: B2 (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL paper-based 513). A certificate is not strictly required, because your English is assessed at the interview. Native speakers and students educated through English can be exempt.

How to apply

  1. Check exam topicsDownload the Mathematics topics and sample test for non-medical BSc programmes from the university website.
  2. Apply onlineApply through the university’s online application system before 15 June 2027. Upload your school records (with predicted grades), passport, CV and medical certificate, and pay the 150 USD application fee.
  3. Sit exam and interviewPay the 350 USD entrance procedure fee. Sit the online Maths exam and the interview. Results come within 1-2 days.
  4. Confirm and enrolAccept your letter of acceptance, pay the tuition fee in USD, and bring your original Leaving Certificate to registration in September.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: September intake only. The university gives 15 June as the application deadline for September entry (15 June 2026 for the 2026 intake). Confirm the 2027 date when applications open. After you apply, the date of your online entrance exam and interview is arranged by email, and results come within 1-2 days..

Costs

  • The university charges 7,000 US dollars a year (2026/27 fee table), paid by bank transfer in USD. It does not publish a separate EU or euro rate. You also pay a one-off application fee of 150 USD and an entrance procedure fee of 350 USD, neither refundable. Health insurance and the student card are included in the tuition fee. Fees for 2027/28 are not yet published.
Fees are charged in US dollars (7,000 USD a year), so the cost in euro changes with the exchange rate. Even for a business degree, you must pass an online maths entrance exam.
