About the course

A 7-semester engineering degree covering natural sciences, technical subjects, economics, management, IT and industrial and transport technology. It prepares students for logistics work such as transport, materials handling, warehousing, procurement and distribution. About 54% of the course is practical work, with specialisations in production process engineering and service process engineering.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university asks for a secondary school-leaving certificate and school-level maths, but publishes no specific rules or grade conversion for the Irish Leaving Certificate. Hungary has no national Leaving Cert points conversion for English-taught programmes. A completed Leaving Certificate normally meets the school-leaving requirement, but confirm with apply@uni-miskolc.hu before applying.
  • Admission is decided by a 20-30 minute online oral interview. It checks your motivation and spoken English and may include basic maths or subject questions. The professional part counts for up to 75% of the score and spoken English for 25%. Revise Leaving Cert maths before the interview.
  • English: B2 level is required. The programme lists IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 72, GCSE English or Duolingo 100 as accepted, and native speakers or applicants who completed an English-medium education are exempt. Irish native speakers should confirm that the exemption covers them.

How to apply

  1. Prepare documentsGather your Leaving Cert results (certified, in English), a Europass CV, a motivation letter of 3,000-3,500 characters, passport or ID, the university’s medical certificate form and 2 references.
  2. Apply in DreamApplyRegister at apply.uni-miskolc.hu, submit the documents and pay the EUR 150 non-refundable fee through Flywire. For 2026 entry the portal opened on 1 November, so watch for about November 2026 for 2027 entry.
  3. Online interviewTake the free online oral entrance interview (20-30 minutes) on motivation, spoken English and basic maths. If you pass, you get a conditional letter of admission.
  4. Pay and arrange housingPay the first semester’s tuition (EUR 3,000) to receive final acceptance, and arrange accommodation. For 2026/27 all dormitory places were already allocated. Teaching starts in the first week of September.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: The 2027/28 deadline has not been published yet. For 2026/27 entry, applications opened on 1 November 2025 in DreamApply and the intake is now closed. Teaching started in the first week of September 2026. Expect a similar timeline for 2027 entry, with applications opening around November 2026, and check the application procedure page for the closing date..

Costs

  • EUR 3,000 per semester (about EUR 6,000 a year), as listed for 2026/27. The university’s pages show one fee and do not publish a separate EU rate, so confirm the rate for EU students with apply@uni-miskolc.hu. There is also a one-off, non-refundable application fee of EUR 150, paid online through Flywire in DreamApply. The online entrance interview is free. The first semester’s tuition must be paid after the conditional offer and before the final acceptance letter.
This is a self-funded, 3.5-year (7-semester) degree, and admission is decided by an online interview, not by CAO-style points. The university lists one fee of EUR 3,000 per semester, so check whether EU students pay a different rate, and arrange housing early because dormitories filled up for 2026/27.
