About the course

A three-and-a-half-year business degree taught in English, covering management, economics, finance, marketing and related subjects. Teaching uses lectures, case studies, practical tasks and teamwork, with guest lecturers from Europe and the United States.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The University of Pécs asks for a completed secondary-school diploma with a certified English translation and official transcript, and the Leaving Certificate normally meets this. There is no official Leaving Cert conversion: school results count for up to 50 of 100 admission points, based on your average over the final two years of school (50-69% gives 20 points, 70-84% gives 35, 85% or above gives 50). Confirm with admissions how your Higher and Ordinary Level grades will be scored.
  • Admission is on a 100-point scale: school results (up to 50 points), a maths test (up to 20 points; you need at least 50% to score) and an interview on communication, an article summary and motivation (up to 30 points). Up to 16 extra points are available, for example for a C1 English certificate or volunteering. You need at least 60 points.
  • English: a certificate at CEFR B2 or above from an accredited exam body, no older than two years, is listed. The programme page does not mention an exemption for Leaving Cert English, so check with the faculty.

How to apply

  1. Check the programme pageRead the fees, entry rules and documents list on the University of Pécs international site, and ask the faculty how the Leaving Cert will be scored and whether you need an English certificate.
  2. Apply online by 31 May 2027Register at apply.pte.hu, upload your passport, school diploma and transcript with certified English translation, and English certificate, and pay the EUR 150 application fee.
  3. Sit the maths test and interviewYou will be invited to a maths test and a short admission interview. Together with your school results these make up your admission score (minimum 60 of 100).
  4. Pay fees and enrolSuccessful applicants receive a conditional acceptance letter and a tuition fee notice. Once the tuition is paid, the letter of admission is issued. Classes start 1 September 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Apply by 31 May 2027 (shown on the site as 05/31/2027) through apply.pte.hu for the September 2027 intake; classes begin 1 September 2027. After the application fee is paid, the university invites you to a maths test and an admission interview of about 10 minutes..

Costs

  • EUR 1,150 per semester for EU students (EUR 2,300 a year); non-EU students pay EUR 2,750 per semester. There is a non-refundable application fee of EUR 150. The programme lasts 7 semesters, so budget for three and a half years of fees.
This is a 3.5-year degree with a compulsory maths test and interview, so there is no CAO-style points offer. The page asks for a B2 English certificate and does not say Irish applicants are exempt, so ask early whether you need an IELTS or similar test.
