About the course

A seven-semester (210 ECTS) business degree taught in English, covering economics, management, finance, marketing and related areas. The final semester is an internship at a company or non-profit organisation.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Hungary has no national Leaving Certificate points conversion for English-taught programmes. Szeged asks for a secondary school certificate and transcript, and then sets its own entrance exam. The Leaving Cert normally meets the school-leaving requirement, but the university publishes no Leaving Cert grade rules, so confirm with admissions.
  • All applicants take an online written and oral entrance exam, and the university says mathematics knowledge is essential. Exemptions are listed for Cambridge A-Level Maths (grade C or above), IB Maths (SL 4+ or HL 3+) and a SAT Maths score above a set level together with an English certificate. The Leaving Cert is not on the exemption list, so Irish applicants should expect to sit the exam.
  • English: B2 level shown by an international four-skill English exam from an accredited centre. Leaving Cert English is not listed as proof, so check with admissions or plan to take a test such as IELTS.

Costs

  • EUR 2,700 per semester (EUR 5,400 a year). The university publishes one tuition fee for its international degree programmes and does not list a separate EU rate. One-off costs: a non-refundable EUR 79 application fee per programme and a EUR 200 entrance exam fee.
This degree takes 3.5 years (7 semesters, including an internship), not 3. The Leaving Cert is not on the list of qualifications that exempt you from the maths entrance exam.
