About the course

A practical, career-focused civil engineering degree at a university of applied sciences, with practicals at the Joint Research Center Zeeland. Students with a pre-university (VWO) diploma or international equivalent can take a 3-year track that skips the third-year internship and minor.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • HZ lists the Irish Leaving Certificate (LC or LCVP) as an admissible diploma, but it assesses each applicant individually and does not publish minimum grades, points or a number of Higher Level subjects. Contact admissions to confirm.
  • You need a good level of Mathematics and Physics; HZ does not publish a required grade. Applicants without maths can still apply after an online preparatory course.
  • English at a level equal to IELTS 6.0; applicants who finished school in Ireland do not need to take an English test, provided their English grade is sufficient.
