About the course

A new 5-year single-cycle degree in Veterinary Medicine, taught entirely in English. It combines theory, laboratory work and clinical practice, and classes are held at the new Frullone campus in Naples. The first intake is in 2026/27.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm. Places are given out through the national IMAT Veterinary Medicine ranking.
  • IMAT (2026 format): 60 multiple-choice questions in 100 minutes: 4 reading comprehension, 5 logical reasoning, 23 biology, 15 chemistry and 13 physics/maths. EU candidates need at least 20 points to be ranked. Veterinary Medicine has its own national ranking.
  • The university requires English at B2 level (CEFR) or above for this course.

Working in Ireland afterwards

Veterinary degrees from EU member states listed in Annex V (point 5.4.2) of Directive 2005/36/EC are recognised qualifications you can register with at the Veterinary Council of Ireland, which in effect means automatic recognition. You still need to apply to the VCI to register before you can practise. Check the VCI’s list of recognised qualifications to confirm your specific degree is on it.

Costs

  • Under the university’s 2026/27 fee rules, students who are citizens of another EU country pay a fixed contribution of EUR 200 (where their calculated contribution would be EUR 200 or more). On top of this come the Campania regional study-right tax (EUR 173 without an Italian ISEE income statement) and EUR 16 stamp duty, so the total is about EUR 389 a year. It is paid in three instalments (the first is due by 2 November 2026). The fee guide has no separate rule for English-taught courses. You also pay an IMAT registration fee on Universitaly, but we could not confirm the amount. Fees for 2027/28 are not yet published.
Veterinary degrees from EU member states that are listed in Annex V (point 5.4.2) of Directive 2005/36/EC can be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland. This course is brand new and is listed by the Italian ministry as still being accredited, so check the VCI’s list of recognised qualifications, and remember you must still apply to the VCI to register before you can practise.
