About the course

A 5-year single-cycle degree in Pharmacy taught in English, run in partnership with the University of Nottingham, with the option of studying at Nottingham or on Erasmus. Attendance at lectures and laboratory sessions is compulsory, and the course includes at least six months (30 credits) of training in a community or hospital pharmacy.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm. The call asks for a school-leaving qualification based on at least 12 years of schooling, plus the documents set out in the Italian ministry’s guidelines.
  • Entry is through CISIA’s computer-based CEnT-S test, which covers logic and reasoning, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. There is no minimum score for admission, but a low score can add extra learning requirements (OFA) in first year.
  • Every applicant does an online oral interview to check that their English is at B2 level, unless they are exempt. You are exempt if you upload a recognised B2 certificate (for example Cambridge, IELTS or TOEFL iBT) or hold a degree from an English-taught programme.

Working in Ireland afterwards

A pharmacy degree from an EU/EEA member state that fully meets the Directive 2005/36/EC minimum training requirements (Article 44) can be recognised automatically. If you started your studies before the Directive’s reference date, you also need 3 consecutive years of professional experience within the last 5 years. Recognition is step one and PSI registration is step two: recognition alone does not let you practise, and you must also prove competence in English. EU law allows countries to limit EU-qualified pharmacists from running newly opened pharmacies, and we could not confirm on the PSI website whether Ireland does this. If you plan to be the supervising or superintendent pharmacist in a pharmacy, check with the PSI.

How to apply

  1. Take the CEnT-SRegister with CISIA and take the CEnT-S within the test window (1 November 2025 to 9 June 2026 last cycle). The test costs 55 euro.
  2. Apply on DelphiSubmit your application on Tor Vergata’s Delphi portal while it is open (18 February to 12 June 2026 last cycle). Upload an English certificate if you have one.
  3. English interviewIf you are not exempt, attend the online B2 English interview on Microsoft Teams (6 July 2026 last cycle).
  4. Ranking and enrolmentRankings are published from mid-July (16 July 2026 last cycle). If you are on the main list, enrol on Delphi and pay by the deadlines (2 and 11 September 2026 last cycle).
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: For 2026/27 entry, applications on Delphi were open from 18 February to 12 June 2026. The CEnT-S had to be taken between 1 November 2025 and 9 June 2026. The online English interview was on 6 July 2026, and rankings were published from 16 July 2026. Main-list students had to enrol on Delphi by 2 September 2026 and pay by 11 September 2026. Later lists had deadlines in September and October. Dates for 2027 entry are not yet published..

Costs

  • Tor Vergata’s 2026/27 Student Handbook says that international students (and Italians with income earned abroad) whose family income cannot be assessed under the Italian ISEE system pay a fixed all-inclusive contribution of 2,500 euro a year for the English-taught Pharmacy degree. This is likely to be the rate for most Irish students. Students who are assessed under ISEE pay according to income. Pharmacy (in English) is in contribution Class 4, which ranges from 0 to 4,250 euro a year at the ordinary rate. A regional tax of 140 euro and stamp duty of 16 euro are added every year. The CEnT-S test costs 55 euro, paid to CISIA. Confirm with the university which fee category you fall into.
A pharmacy degree from an EU country that fully meets the minimum training rules in Directive 2005/36/EC (Article 44) can be recognised automatically, but you must then register with the PSI and prove your competence in English. If you plan to be the supervising or superintendent pharmacist in a pharmacy, check with the PSI.
