About the course

A three-year degree combining communication theory and strategy with information management and digital technology, including data analysis, information systems, public relations and multimedia content. KTU mentions an optional semester at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • KTU does not publish rules specific to the Irish Leaving Certificate. It asks for a secondary school certificate obtained no more than 3 years before applying, with an average above 60% in each entry subject. How Leaving Cert grades (H1-H8, O1-O8) convert is not published, so confirm with KTU admissions.
  • Competition score: final exam in English 40%, a final exam in History, Geography, Mathematics or IT 40%, and an online motivation interview 20%. The application portal also asks for at least two references.
  • English: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 75 or CEFR B2, or equivalent. An extra test may not be needed if your previous studies were fully in English and your school documents say so. Ask KTU whether a school letter confirming English-medium teaching is enough for Irish students.

How to apply

  1. Check the 2027 windowLook for KTU’s 2027 bachelor dates on admissions.ktu.edu from autumn 2026, and make sure you apply to the English-taught version.
  2. Apply onlineApply at apply.ktu.edu with your passport, school results, proof of English, two references and the other documents listed on the portal (which include a police clearance certificate). Pay the EUR 100 application fee within two weeks.
  3. Motivation interviewComplete the online motivation interview, which counts for 20% of your score.
  4. Accept and payWhen you get your invitation to study, pay the first year’s tuition by the deadline KTU sets and send your final Leaving Cert results. Studies start in early September.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: In the 2026 cycle, applications ran from 15 October 2025 to 1 June 2026, and autumn 2026 studies started in early September. The 2027 dates have not been published, but a similar mid-October to 1 June window is likely. Check admissions.ktu.edu..

Costs

  • EUR 3,250 a year for full-time study (EUR 54.17 per credit). This is KTU’s fee for students starting in 2026/27, and the 2027/28 fee has not been published yet. There is also a one-off, non-refundable application fee of EUR 100, payable within two weeks of applying. After you receive your offer, you pay the first year’s tuition (60 credits) in advance, before signing the study agreement.
KTU runs this programme in both English and Lithuanian, so make sure you apply to the English-taught version. It is a fee-paying place. The 1 June deadline comes before Leaving Cert results are issued, so ask KTU early how it handles predicted or provisional results.
