About the course

A four-year computing degree covering programming, mathematics, algorithms and data structures, operating systems, databases and networks. KTU lists the programme in both English and Lithuanian, so you need to apply for the English-taught group.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • KTU does not publish rules specific to the Irish Leaving Certificate. It asks for a secondary school certificate obtained no more than 3 years before applying, with an average above 60% in each entry subject. How Leaving Cert grades (H1-H8, O1-O8) convert is not published, so confirm with KTU admissions before applying.
  • Competition score: a mathematics entry exam counts for 50%, a final exam in IT, Physics, Biology, Chemistry or Geography for 30%, and English for 20%. Ask KTU whether the maths entry exam is a KTU test (as it is for the AI degree) or can be covered by your Leaving Cert Maths result.
  • English: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 75, CEFR B2 or equivalent. An extra test may not be needed if your previous studies were fully in English and your school documents say so.

How to apply

  1. Check the 2027 requirementsFrom October 2026, check the KTU bachelor admissions page and the programme page for 2027 dates, fees and the score table.
  2. Prepare documentsPassport or ID, Leaving Cert results or a school statement of predicted or provisional results (check that KTU accepts this), English proof or evidence of English-medium schooling, and any references the portal asks for.
  3. Apply on apply.ktu.eduChoose the English-taught group, submit the application and pay the application fee before the deadline (1 June in the 2026 cycle). Sit the maths entry exam if KTU requires it.
  4. Accept and payIf you get an offer, pay the first year’s tuition before enrolment. Studies start in September.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: In the 2026 cycle, KTU applications ran from 15 October 2025 to 1 June 2026, and studies started in early September 2026. The 2027 dates have not been published yet, so confirm them on the KTU admissions page. State-funded places for EU citizens are handled separately through the national LAMA BPO system..

Costs

  • EUR 4,201 a year (EUR 70.02 per credit, 60 credits a year). This is KTU’s fee for international fee-paying students starting in 2026/27. The first year’s tuition is paid in advance after you receive your offer, before signing the study agreement. KTU applies a non-refundable EUR 100 application fee to its bachelor applications. The 2027/28 fee has not been published yet.
This is a fee-paying place. Free state-funded places go through the separate LAMA BPO system. The 2026 deadline was 1 June, before Leaving Cert results are issued, so ask KTU early how it handles predicted or provisional results.
