About the course

A language and media degree focused on creating content for different media, managing communication and using digital technologies. It is taught in English, full-time on campus in Kaunas.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • KTU does not publish rules specific to the Irish Leaving Cert. It asks for a secondary school diploma with an average above 60%, and you must have finished school no more than 3 years earlier. You need minimum grades in English and in one of History, Geography, Mathematics or IT. KTU does not publish how Leaving Cert grades (H1-H8, O1-O8) are converted, so confirm with admissions.
  • The earlier draft gave these score weights: English 50%, History/Geography/Maths/IT 30%, and an online motivation interview 20%. We could not re-confirm them this time, so check the current formula on the programme page.
  • English: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 75, CEFR B2, PTE or an equivalent. You are exempt if your previous studies were fully in English and this is documented. Otherwise, KTU can assess you with its own online exam. Ask KTU whether a school letter confirming English-medium teaching is accepted alongside the Leaving Cert.

Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: For 2026 entry, KTU’s bachelor applications ran from 15 October 2025 to 1 June 2026, with studies starting in early September 2026 (the portal gives 3 September). The 2026 window has closed, and KTU has not yet published its 2027 dates. Check admissions.ktu.edu from October 2026..

Costs

  • KTU charges EUR 3,250 a year for full-time study in 2026/27. There is no separate EU rate. You also pay a one-off application fee of EUR 100, due within 2 weeks of applying. It is not refunded. The first year’s tuition (60 credits) is paid in advance after you are accepted. KTU offers partial tuition waivers to candidates with outstanding results. The 2027/28 fee has not been published. Tuition-free state-funded places go only through the separate national LAMA BPO system and are mostly for Lithuanian-taught courses.
This is a fee-paying place, not a tuition-free one. Your Leaving Cert English grade is a required entry subject, so ask KTU how it will be converted. The deadline falls before Leaving Cert results come out.
