About the course

A four-year (240 ECTS) Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy taught in English in Kaunas, leading to a BSc in Health Sciences, Physiotherapist. It includes 1,269 hours of clinical practice in a range of healthcare settings.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm. Your school record must show you completed Biology and Chemistry, and the university says good knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English is required.
  • Physiotherapy applicants with good grades in Biology and Chemistry can be exempt from the entrance test, with admission based on those grades plus an online interview; applicants with no or low grades in those subjects must sit the online test (30 Biology and 30 Chemistry multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes).
  • English: B1 (CEFR) level, for example IELTS above 5.5, TOEFL iBT minimum 4.0, PTE Academic 55-67, Duolingo 95 or LanguageCert IESOL.

Working in Ireland afterwards

Physiotherapy is not covered by automatic recognition. CORU checks each EU/EEA physiotherapy qualification against its Standards of Proficiency, and you need a letter of recognition before you can apply to join the Physiotherapists Register. If your training does not fully match, CORU can offer a compensation measure: a supervised adaptation period in Ireland or an aptitude test. EU/EEA-qualified physiotherapists with EU rights can also apply through the European Professional Card (EPC) route.
