About the course

A programme combining natural sciences and engineering, covering genetic engineering, molecular biology, bioinformatics and pharmaceutical biotechnology. It is taught full-time on campus in Vilnius, in English, and the award is a Bachelor of Technological Sciences in Bioengineering.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • VILNIUS TECH accepts the Irish Leaving Certificate, and current students can apply with a provisional certificate. For Ireland, it asks for at least 60% of the maximum possible result in maths, in physics or another science or social science subject, and in English. The university does not say how Higher and Ordinary Level grades map to this, so confirm with admissions@vilniustech.lt before relying on a grade (roughly H4 is a reasonable guide, not an official figure).
  • Maths and a science subject are required at 60% or more. The application asks for a motivation letter and at least two references, and VILNIUS TECH asks international applicants to do a recorded interview.
  • English: the university accepts IELTS Academic 5.5 (no section below 5.5), TOEFL iBT 70, B2 First 160, PTE 48 or Duolingo 95, among others. Applicants whose previous studies were entirely in English are exempt, but it does not say whether Irish schooling counts. Leaving Cert English is not listed as proof, so confirm with admissions.

How to apply

Costs

  • The VILNIUS TECH fees page lists EUR 4,201 a year for EU citizens and permanent residents on bachelor programmes in Engineering/IT/Technologies for 2026/27. The course page on the application portal shows EUR 4,950, which is the non-EU rate. There is also a non-refundable EUR 100 application fee, and a EUR 200 registration fee paid with the first tuition instalment. The 2027/28 fee has not been published. Confirm the amount on the official fees page before applying.
This is a fee-paying place (about EUR 4,201 a year for EU students in 2026/27). EU citizens can also compete for state-funded places through LAMA BPO, but most of those are on Lithuanian-taught courses. The EU closing date is not published, so check the portal as soon as it opens.
