About the course

A four-year (240 ECTS) English-taught programme at VU’s Kaunas Faculty covering economics, management, finance, marketing, statistics, econometrics, business analytics and entrepreneurship.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Vilnius University accepts the Irish Leaving Certificate. You need passes in at least six subjects: two at H5 or higher, and the rest at O6/H7 or higher (for a Leaving Cert awarded from 2017). Provisional certificates are accepted from current Leaving Cert students, and final documents must be submitted before 20 August.
  • A motivation letter is required, and the Kaunas Faculty may invite you to a remote interview. VU requires an entrance exam from applicants who have not taken national university entrance exams in their home country. Ask admissions to confirm that the Leaving Cert counts, so that no entrance exam applies to you.
  • English: you need IELTS Academic 6.5+, TOEFL iBT 81+, Cambridge 176+, PTE 59+, Duolingo 120+ or another B2 equivalent. There are exemptions for native English speakers and for applicants whose previous degree was taught in English. Check with VU whether Irish applicants are exempt.

How to apply

  1. Check requirementsMake sure you are on track for six Leaving Cert passes (two at H5 or higher), and prepare a motivation letter.
  2. Apply on apply.vu.ltSubmit your online application with your provisional results and pay the EUR 100 application fee. The 2026 EU deadline was 1 July, so confirm the 2027 date.
  3. Interview if invitedThe Kaunas Faculty may invite you to a remote interview.
  4. Final documents and feeSubmit your final Leaving Cert before 20 August and pay the year’s fee within 15 days of your offer.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: For the 2026 intake, the official deadline for EU/EFTA citizens was 1 July (1 May for non-EU/EFTA applicants), and final school-leaving documents were due before 20 August. Applications for 2026 are now closed, and 2027 dates have not been published yet, so confirm them on apply.vu.lt. State-funded places use a separate LAMA BPO application, usually in summer, and your Leaving Cert may need to be recognised first. Check the timing with VU admissions..

Costs

  • EUR 4,000 per year for a non-state-funded (fee-paying) place in 2026/27, as published on the official programme page. The page gives one figure and does not show a separate EU rate. VU says fees can change under national law. You must pay the annual fee within 15 calendar days of the study offer. There is a non-refundable EUR 100 application fee, and one application covers up to three programmes. EU citizens may also be able to compete for tuition-free state-funded places through the national LAMA BPO system, but these places are limited. Check the details with VU.
This programme is taught in Kaunas, not Vilnius. The 2026 application round has closed, so watch apply.vu.lt for the 2027 opening.
