About the course

A seven-semester, full-time first-cycle engineering programme taught in English in AGH’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, combining mechanical engineering with electronics, control and computing.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • AGH accepts school-leaving certificates from EU, OECD and EFTA countries, including Ireland, without a separate NAWA recognition decision. Your Leaving Cert must qualify you for university entry in Ireland. AGH’s Admission Centre converts your grades to a 0–100% scale using the level shown on the certificate (basic or advanced). It does not publish how Higher Level and Ordinary Level (H1–H8, O1–O8) map to these levels, so confirm this with admissions. CAO points do not carry across.
  • Mechatronic Engineering ranks you on two subjects. The first is Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science. The second is Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a foreign language. Scores are out of 1,000 and the minimum is 300. For 2026/27 the cut-off was 500 points in Round 1 and 515 in Round 2. If AGH cannot treat your maths result as advanced level, you can sit the optional AGH maths exam, where points may raise your score and the pass mark is 30%.
  • English: AGH lists Ireland among the countries whose school-leaving certificates are exempt from the English language certificate, so an Irish Leaving Cert holder does not need IELTS or TOEFL.

How to apply

  1. Apply online in e-RekrutacjaCreate an account in AGH’s e-Rekrutacja system and choose Mechatronic Engineering (English). Pay the PLN 85 fee by the round deadline. In 2026 these were 9 July for Round 1 and 4 September for Round 3.
  2. Upload your documentsUpload a scan of your Leaving Cert certificate (English documents need no translation), your passport (valid at least until 30 September) and a photo. Arrange an apostille for your Leaving Cert early, as you must bring it at registration.
  3. Optional AGH maths examIf your maths result may not count as advanced level, register for the AGH maths exam (the recruitment fee rises to PLN 100). In 2026 the exam dates were 14 July, 23 July and 10 September.
  4. Results and registrationCheck the ranking results (for example, 14 September for Round 3 in 2026) and confirm your field of study. Register in person between 16 and 30 September with originals of all documents, including the apostille. Classes start on 1 October.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: 2026 cycle (2027 dates not yet published): Round 1 applications 1 June to 9 July (10am CEST), results 17 July. Round 2 applications 17 to 20 July, results 27 July. Round 3 applications 27 July to 4 September (10am CEST), optional maths exam 10 September, results 14 September. Applicants with non-Polish certificates register in person 16 to 30 September. Classes start 1 October..

Costs

  • EUR 1,800 per semester (EUR 3,600 a year) for 2026/27. EU citizens pay this fee because the programme is taught in English; free study for EU citizens applies only to full-time Polish-taught programmes. One-off recruitment fee: PLN 85, or PLN 100 if you also sit the AGH maths exam. Student ID card: PLN 22.
Leaving Cert results usually come out in late August, after AGH’s July rounds close. For Irish applicants, the realistic route is usually Round 3, which closed on 4 September in 2026, so check the 2027 dates as soon as they are published. EU citizens pay EUR 3,600 a year because the course is taught in English.
