About the course

A seven-semester engineering degree taught in English. The first year covers maths, physics, mechanics, thermodynamics and computer science. Later years cover aeronautics, flight mechanics, propulsion and aircraft design. Students specialise in Aerospace Structures and Systems or Aerospace Propulsion Systems, and the final half-year is spent on the engineering diploma thesis.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Poland accepts school-leaving certificates from EU, OECD and EFTA countries, including Ireland, without a separate recognition decision. WUT’s admissions page names Ireland in that list. You need an apostille on your Leaving Certificate and an eligibility statement showing you can enter a bachelor’s degree. WUT publishes no Leaving Cert conversion table (H1-H8 / O1-O8). CAO points do not carry across, so ask the International Students Office how your grades will be scored.
  • WUT says it usually looks for an overall average of at least 70% and very good grades in Maths and Science, so strong Higher Level Maths and Physics or Applied Maths will help. Under a Polish law from 2025, applicants must normally do an online interview. WUT says this does not apply to holders of EU/OECD/EFTA certificates, and Ireland is on that list.
  • English: you must show that your previous education was in English or hold an accepted English certificate. A Leaving Cert taught through English should meet this, but get written confirmation. If you studied through Irish, check with the university first.

How to apply

  1. Register in IRKCreate an account on WUT’s Online Recruitment System (IRK) when registration opens (11 May in 2026). You can choose up to three programmes in order of preference.
  2. Apply and pay the feeBefore the July deadline (21 July in 2026), upload your school certificate or transcript, passport and photo, and pay the 85 PLN application fee. The faculty can take up to 15 days to issue a preliminary ‘qualified’ decision.
  3. Send final documentsOnce qualified, send your apostilled Leaving Certificate, the eligibility statement and proof of English by the document deadline (19 August in 2026). Leaving Cert results normally come out in late August, so contact the International Students Office early to ask how they handle this.
  4. Register in WarsawRegister in person at the university before classes start on 1 October.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: 2026 cycle (October 2026 intake): online registration opened 11 May 2026, applications closed 21 July 2026, and final documents were due by 19 August 2026. Classes began 1 October 2026. Dates for 2027 entry are not yet published, so expect a similar May to July window..

Costs

  • The university’s English-taught B.Sc. offer for 2026/27 lists Aerospace Engineering as free for EU students (non-EU students pay €2,490 per semester). Most other English-taught WUT bachelors charge EU students a fee, so ask for written confirmation of your fee status before you accept a place. There is a non-refundable application fee of 85 PLN.
The 2026 deadlines (applications by 21 July, documents by 19 August) fall before Irish Leaving Cert results normally come out, so contact WUT’s International Students Office early about applying on predicted or partial results. It is unusual for an English-taught course to be free for EU students, so get your fee status confirmed in writing.
