About the course

A three-year (6 semesters, 180 ECTS) bachelor in finance and banking taught in English at ASE, Romania’s specialist economics and business university.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • EU citizens apply on the same terms as Romanians. You need a CNRED recognition certificate for your Leaving Cert (100 lei, 30 days from a complete application; Irish documents need an Apostille). ASE ranks applicants on 70% baccalaureate (final-exam) grade and 30% average of high-school years; confirm with ASE how Leaving Cert Higher and Ordinary Level grades are converted.
  • No set subjects or maths level are listed. You must submit a signed motivation essay explaining why you chose ASE, marked pass or fail; a fail stops your application.
  • English: pass ASE’s online multiple-choice English test (minimum 50/100, pass or fail) on admitere.ase.ro. Ask ASE whether a certificate or a Leaving Cert taken in English exempts you.

How to apply

  1. Get CNRED recognitionApply to CNRED with your Apostilled Leaving Cert, ID copy, application form and the 100 lei fee, ideally by May 2027; it takes 30 days from a complete file.
  2. Register on admitere.ase.roCreate an account and upload your diploma and transcript, CNRED certificate, photographs and signed motivation essay during the 2027 admission window (expected summer 2027).
  3. Take the English testSit ASE’s online multiple-choice English test; you need at least 50 out of 100.
  4. Confirm your placeWhen results are out, confirm on the portal and provide original documents. On a fee-paying place, pay half the annual fee to confirm.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: ASE’s English pages give no application dates; EU citizens follow the admission periods set for Romanian citizens. The 2027 calendar is not published. Apply for CNRED recognition of your Leaving Cert well in advance, as it takes 30 days from a complete application. Check admitere.ase.ro in spring 2027..

Costs

  • Full-time EU applicants can be ranked onto state-funded (tuition-free) or fee-paying places, on the same basis as Romanians. On a fee-paying place you pay half the annual tuition fee when you confirm your place. ASE’s English pages do not publish the fee amount or any registration fee, so ask internationaladmission@ase.ro. CNRED recognition costs 100 lei.
Sort out your CNRED recognition certificate in spring, because ASE requires it and admissions follow the Romanian summer calendar. EU students can win a tuition-free state-funded place, but the fee for a paid place is not published on ASE’s English pages.
