About the course

This Veterinary Medicine degree is taught in English by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at IULS in Iasi. Applicants are ranked 70% on their school-leaving exam average and 30% on an online interview.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm. The admission committee converts your grades to the Romanian 1 to 10 scale, and your school-leaving exam average makes up 70% of your ranking. If applicants have the same exam average, the average of their 3 or 4 years of secondary school grades decides it.
  • There is no written entrance exam. The other 30% of your ranking comes from an online interview with the admission committee (6 to 20 July in 2026). The university does not publish what the interview covers.
  • English: a certificate at B1 or higher covering at least speaking, listening and writing, or proof that you are a native speaker or studied in English for 4 or more years. If you have no valid certificate, you can take the university’s own English test (50 euro).

Working in Ireland afterwards

Costs

  • The university lists tuition of 5,950 euro a year for Veterinary Medicine taught in English, and EU students pay it too. EU/EEA/Swiss students pay the first year in instalments: 1,500 euro when they enrol (a non-refundable guarantee), then 2,000 euro in the first week of Semester 1 and 2,000 euro before the first exam session. Those instalments add up to 5,500 euro, not 5,950 euro, so ask admissions which figure applies. There is also a 100 euro application fee, and a 50 euro fee for the university’s English test if you do not have a valid certificate. Fees for later years are not published separately.
