About the course

A three-year (180 ECTS) bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy at the Faculty of Medical Bioengineering, with all courses taught in English. The university has its own medical rehabilitation clinic, and students get practical training in hospitals, rehabilitation centres and laboratories.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm. Its general rule is that the average of your last two years of school must be at least equal to 6 on the Romanian 1 to 10 scale.
  • There is no entrance exam. Two evaluators score your application on an evaluation grid. Volunteering certificates, letters of recommendation from teachers and proof of experience in healthcare can count towards your score. This is followed by an online interview in English of up to 10 minutes, which you must pass to be admitted.
  • English at B2 level is required, but citizens of English-speaking countries, including Ireland, are exempt.

Working in Ireland afterwards

Physiotherapy is not covered by automatic recognition. CORU checks each EU/EEA physiotherapy qualification against its Standards of Proficiency, and you need a letter of recognition before you can apply to join the Physiotherapists Register. If your training does not fully match, CORU can offer a compensation measure: a supervised adaptation period in Ireland or an aptitude test. EU/EEA-qualified physiotherapists with EU rights can also apply through the European Professional Card (EPC) route.

How to apply

  1. Apply onlineRegister through the university’s online admission portal, upload your school transcripts, passport and the other required documents, and pay the EUR 200 processing fee. In 2026 the window ran from 1 March to 25 May.

Costs

  • EUR 4,000 per year for the English programme in 2026/27, according to the programme admission page. An older admissions page (2024/25 details) showed EUR 3,500. These are fee-paying places, and the admission rules apply to EU as well as non-EU applicants. The university says the annual fee will stay the same for all years for international self-funded students starting in 2026/27. On top of that, there is a non-refundable EUR 200 application processing fee. The older admissions page also lists a 230 RON enrolment fee. Two-thirds of the first-year fee must be paid shortly after admission to secure your place.
