About the course

A practical, career-focused game and creative media degree at a university of applied sciences, combining design, storytelling and technology in team projects. After a broad first year, students focus on roles such as game designer, animator, VR/AR designer or art director.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The institution assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm.
  • Compulsory intake: an online questionnaire, then a portfolio in your chosen role (artist, designer or engineer), a basic game or level (for example in Unity) and a 5-8 minute video presenting both. You need a positive or neutral result to enrol.
  • Saxion recommends a school-leaving qualification that includes Mathematics; no level or grade is published. English: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80, or an exemption (applicants from English-speaking countries should ask Saxion).
