About the course

A three-year, 180-credit full-time campus programme taught in English. Year 1 covers programming, networking, security and databases; year 2 moves on to routing, cybersecurity operations and IT forensics; year 3 includes risk management, wireless networks and a thesis, with an option to study abroad.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • University Admissions in Sweden accepts the Leaving Certificate for general entry if you have at least six subjects, with at least two at Higher Level. Predicted grades are not accepted, so you need your final results. Confirm how your grades are assessed with University Admissions.
  • No maths or science subject is listed as a specific requirement for this programme; the only extra requirement is English 6 (Swedish upper-secondary level).
  • English: University Admissions accepts a Leaving Cert English result of Ordinary Level O6 (or D) or better as meeting English 6, so you should not need IELTS or TOEFL.
  • Selection: 67% of places go on grades and 33% on the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (högskoleprovet), which is held in Swedish, so Irish applicants are normally ranked on their Leaving Cert grades.

How to apply

  1. Check eligibilityMake sure you will have (or already have) at least six Leaving Cert subjects with at least two at Higher Level, and English at O6 or better.
  2. Apply onlineApply at universityadmissions.se between 16 October 2026 and 15 January 2027, using application code HS-71236 for the autumn 2027 intake.
  3. Upload documentsBy 1 February 2027 upload your final Leaving Cert results and a copy of your passport or ID card as proof of EU citizenship. Without final results you cannot be ranked, so most school-leavers apply the year after their Leaving Cert.
  4. Get results and acceptAdmission results are published on 8 April 2027. Accept your place on universityadmissions.se; the programme starts in Skövde on 30 August 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: International admission round for autumn 2027: applications open 16 October 2026 and close 15 January 2027 on universityadmissions.se (application code HS-71236). Supporting documents, including proof of citizenship, are due by 1 February 2027. Results are published on 8 April 2027. The programme runs from 30 August 2027 to 9 June 2030. Because places are ranked on final grades, most Irish students will be able to apply only after receiving their Leaving Cert results, for example in the 2028 round after a gap year..

Costs

  • EU/EEA citizens pay no tuition fee and no application fee. The fee of 465,000 SEK for the whole programme (first instalment 77,500 SEK) applies only to non-EU/EEA students. You must upload a copy of your passport or national ID card as proof of EU citizenship by the document deadline.
You cannot apply with predicted grades, and the January deadline comes before Leaving Cert results are issued, so most Irish students apply after they have their results, for example with a gap year. EU citizens pay no fees but must upload proof of citizenship by the document deadline.
