About the course

A three-year bachelor’s programme taught in English. SSE describes it as the only programme of its kind in the world. It combines business fundamentals with close industry links through partnerships with more than 100 retail companies. SSE says Retail Management is quite different from its Business and Economics degree, and you cannot switch programmes after you are admitted.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • SSE accepts predicted grades from students in their final school year. For the Irish Leaving Certificate, SSE asks for a minimum average of 2.8 on a 7-1 scale. It does not say how Leaving Cert grades (H1-H8, O1-O8) convert to this scale, so check with SSE’s bachelor admissions office (bsc.admissions@hhs.se). Admission is highly competitive, and you normally need grades well above the minimum.
  • You need a pass in Mathematics at Ordinary or Higher Level. You also need one test score: SAT 1300 or higher, ACT 28 or higher, or ITB-Business 112 or higher. Shortlisted applicants do an online interview.
  • English: a pass in Leaving Cert English at Ordinary Level meets the requirement. IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge, PTE Academic and similar tests are also accepted.
