About the course

A three-year, 180-credit programme taught entirely in English. It combines business administration with political science, economic history and international political economy. Year 1 covers core business subjects (marketing, accounting, finance, management), Year 2 covers economic history and political science, and Year 3 offers electives or study abroad and a bachelor’s thesis. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science with business administration as the main subject.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • University Admissions in Sweden accepts the Leaving Certificate for general entry if you took at least six subjects, with at least two at Higher Level. Predicted grades are not accepted; places are ranked on your final results.
  • Specific entry requirements: the programme’s education plan lists the Swedish upper-secondary courses English B, Mathematics C and Social Sciences A (roughly English 6, Mathematics 3 and Social Studies 1 in today’s Swedish system), or equivalent. University Admissions decides whether your Leaving Cert subjects and levels match, so check the programme listing on universityadmissions.se for autumn 2027.
  • English: a Leaving Cert English result of Ordinary Level O6 (or D) or better meets the English requirement.

How to apply

  1. Check requirementsLook up the programme on universityadmissions.se for autumn 2027. Confirm it is open for applications and note the specific requirements (English, maths and social studies).
  2. Apply by 15 January 2027Create an account and apply in the international round, which opens on 16 October 2026 and closes on 15 January 2027. Realistically, most Irish students apply the year after their Leaving Cert, once results are in.
  3. Upload documents by 1 FebruaryUpload your final Leaving Cert results and a copy of your passport or ID card as proof of EU citizenship by 1 February 2027.
  4. Results and replyBachelor’s admission results are published on 8 April 2027. Accept your place by the reply deadline and plan to arrive in Stockholm for the start of the autumn semester in August/September 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: The international admissions round for autumn 2027 at universityadmissions.se opens on 16 October 2026 and closes on 15 January 2027. Documents are due on 1 February 2027 and bachelor’s results come out on 8 April 2027. A second round opens on 15 March 2027 and closes on 15 April 2027, with supporting documents due on 21 June (some EU and IB applicants have until 5 July). Fewer English-taught programmes are open in that round, so check whether this programme is listed. Places are ranked on final grades, and Leaving Cert results arrive in late August, after both rounds, so most Irish students apply after getting their results..

Costs

  • No tuition or application fee for EU/EEA citizens, including Irish citizens. You must upload a copy of your passport or national ID card as proof of citizenship by the document deadline, or your application is treated as late.
Tuition is free for Irish citizens, but places are ranked on final Leaving Cert results and the main deadline is in January, so most Irish students apply the year after they sit the Leaving Cert.
