About the course

Teaches you to design and improve products, services and systems, combining subjects from mathematics and ergonomics to form-giving and marketing. Much of the work is project-based, often on real assignments from companies.

Entry requirements for Irish students

• Leaving Certificate (Established or LCVP) with at least 6 subjects and a minimum of 350 CAO points. At least 2 subjects at Higher Level H5 or better: Mathematics (or Applied Maths) and one other required subject such as Physics, Chemistry or Biology. The other 4 subjects need at least O6 or H7. English must be one of your subjects; taking English as an exam subject exempts you from a separate English test.
• Mathematics and Physics are required. In practice this means Higher Level Mathematics at H5 or better and Physics at H5 or better (the university’s rule is that at least one required science is taken at H5; Physics is the only required science here). Check with admissions if unsure.
