About the course

A small, English-taught programme on how new medicines are discovered and developed, taught through project-based learning, lab work and a five-month research internship. In Studielink it is registered under the Dutch Farmacie bachelor (code 56157).

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Utrecht University accepts the Leaving Certificate with at least 6 subjects, of which at least 2 must be at Higher Level with a grade of H4 or better. This makes you eligible but does not guarantee admission.
  • Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are all required. The university does not publish Irish grades or levels for these; it checks that your subjects match the Dutch requirement, so Higher Level in all three is the safest choice. Contact admissions to confirm.
  • English at EMI-ready level (check the English language requirements page to see what counts).
