About the course

A mathematics-heavy degree that uses maths, statistics and optimisation to analyse and solve problems in economics, business and finance. It can be taken entirely in English; in years 1 and 2 you can choose to take some exams and tutorials in Dutch.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Leaving Certificate (Established) with at least 6 exam subjects: 2 at H5 or higher and 4 at O6/H7 or higher, plus a minimum of 350 CAO points. The LCVP is also accepted (at least 6 subjects plus the Link Modules, same grade rules and 350 points).
  • Maths equivalent to Dutch VWO Mathematics B (VU examples: IB Mathematics HL, A-level Maths grade A-C, AP Calculus BC score 3+). VU does not publish an Irish Maths grade for this course, so check your Higher Level Maths with admissions.
  • English: VU exempts applicants whose secondary diploma comes from English-taught education in Ireland from an English test; confirm with VU that your Leaving Certificate is accepted as proof.
