About the course

An English-taught LL.B. that studies law in its social context, built around four themes: migration, sustainability, security and market globalisation, using insights from the social sciences.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Leaving Certificate (Established) with at least 6 exam subjects: 2 at H5 or higher and 4 at O6/H7 or higher, plus a minimum of 350 CAO points. The LCVP is also accepted (at least 6 subjects plus the Link Modules, same grade rules and 350 points).
  • Sufficient maths is required (VU examples: any IB Maths subject, or A-level/AS-level Maths grade A-C). VU does not publish an Irish Maths grade; if your level is not enough you may be admitted conditionally with a maths entry test at Dutch VWO Mathematics C level (e.g. OMPT-E at 60% or Boswell-Bèta at 5.5).
  • English: VU exempts diplomas from English-taught education in Ireland from an English test; EU/EEA applicants must have English proof in by 31 August.
