Don’t Miss This Step: Your CAO Statement of Application Email Is Coming

If you applied to the CAO this year, there’s a very important email heading your way in May – and you need to take action as soon as you get it.

It’s called the Statement of Application Record, and it’s your chance to check that everything on your CAO application is 100% correct.

🧐 What is the Statement of Application Record?

It’s an email from the CAO asking you to log into your account and double-check all your application details. This includes:

✅ Your personal details (name, date of birth, etc.)
✅ Your exam info (Leaving Cert results, exemptions, etc.)
✅ Your course choices (Level 8 and Level 7/6)

❗ Why is it important?

Because if anything is wrong and you don’t fix it now, it could cause serious problems later — including the possibility of not being offered your place in college.

This is your final chance to spot and correct any errors before offers are made in the summer.

🔎 What do you need to do?

Once you get the Statement of Application email:

  1. Log in to your CAO account immediately.

  2. Carefully check all your information.

  3. If there’s anything missing or incorrect, contact CAO straight away.

  4. Once you’ve checked everything, make sure to click the ‘Confirm’ button at the bottom of your CAO homepage.

🔄 Can I still change my courses after clicking ‘Confirm’?

Yes! Clicking ‘Confirm’ just means you’ve checked your personal and exam details – you can still change your course choices through the Change of Mind facility up until July 1st at 5pm.

📬 Still waiting on exam results?

If the only thing missing is your summer exam grades, go ahead and click ‘Confirm’ anyway – just remember to send in your certified results as soon as you get them.

✅ Final Tip

This is one of the most important steps in the CAO process – don’t ignore the email or leave it sitting in your inbox.

Set a reminder, check your junk mail, and make sure your application is in perfect shape. You’ve come this far – don’t let a small error get in the way of your next big step.
